PackOnline Inc integrates SmartPractice and Professional Office Services POS-I-BILL with iServices backbone

Web-native application uses ASP base to outsource recall cards, billing statements seamlessly.



HERNDON, VA - (Jan 18, 2001) - PackOnline, Inc., a Herndon-based vertical integrated services provider of web-based business management applications, today expanded its offering of integrated services (iServices) with Phoenix-based SmartPractice®, a nationwide dental supply company, and Waterloo, Iowa-based Professional Office Services, Inc. (POS), a processor of offline billing statements.

The additions of SmartPractice's mail marketing tools and POS's "POS-I-BILL" statement processing services greatly enhance the iServices of Dental.PackOnline. The iServices are launched within the application without duplication of information, which is pulled from the dental practice's online database, thus saving time, labor and money. Other iServices include insurance claims processing, image sharing and scheduling.

Although Dental.PackOnline is delivered to subscribers through an application service provider (ASP) model, the web-native iServices defy the ASP definition of software that is rented and delivered online. Dental.PackOnline also goes beyond the portal model by converting offline services into seamlessly integrated functions within the application.

Through the SmartPractice iService, dental office staffers can mail items such as appointment recall cards and birthday cards to patients. Also, the iService allows users to schedule automated recurring tasks, all of which are outsourced through SmartPractice using up-to-date information from the practice database. Users also have the flexibility to add personal notes to the cards.

POS-I-BILL allows users to outsource the processing and mailing of billing statements and statement stuffers, again using only the most up-to-date information contained in the user's Dental.PackOnline database. The iService updates the patient records in the database to reflect the execution of the billing process.
